This past October, a bride, and her groom commissioned a detail card and program for their wedding. The newlyweds were looking for cards to place within their guest's hotel bags, as well as a program design to be printed on a series of vellum envelopes filled with confetti for guests to throw as two of them walk down the aisle for the first time as Mr. & Mrs.
Detail Card
For the detail card, the couple wanted to inform guests about the day's schedule and transportation. Therefore, we decided to incorporate a listed layout, agreeing that it would be most efficient in messaging. Likewise, in matching the theme of the hotel bag tags the two had purchased online, I decided to utilize a serif typeface with extensive kerning to provide cohesion. Finally, in adding elegance, the word "details" is exhibited in a script typeface with ornamentation at both ends.
Program
Regarding the program design, the bride and groom opted for a design that offered more freedom in its layout and presentation. Working in a more vertically aligned format, the information provided had to be adjusted to fit the allotted space accordingly. Although still in a listed structure, the names of the bridal party appear in a sans serif typeface, ensuring that their guests can read these names easily against the transparency of the vellum envelope used. The program also includes script typography and vectored imagery for added elegance in keeping with their theme.
