SIMPLICITY. CREATIVITY. DESIGN.
A Mixed Media Art Exhibition
In the spring of 2019 I was granted the opportunity to host my own art exhibition within the Harriman Student Art Gallery at SUNY Orange. Running from the first of April to the twenty-eighth of that same month, SIMPLICITY. CREATIVITY. DESIGN. explored artistic expression and meaning through a variety of mediums ranging from poured acrylic, to graphic and charcoal, and finally to fine photography and digital art. Granted this honor and privilege so early in my artistic career I knew that I had to not only show my design abilities within my work, but provide and showcase my ability to make my art connect with my audience in some shape of form whether it be direct or more internally discreet.
In agreeing to do this show, I had the chance to work with Professor Susan Slater-Tanner who soon became my site supervisor. Having had her work in various art exhibitions I knew there was no one better for the job. In the spirit collaboration, she essentially gave me the run down as to the amount of work that goes into planning an art show, especially when doing it solo and without the help of a single person. Together the two of us developed a plan involving four projects that would spread over the course of the next few months, leading to the opening day.
All in all, I am extremely honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase my work in my own one-man art exhibition. Not many people can say that they single-handedly put together and hosted their own personal art show at the age of nineteen years old. Throughout all the stress putting the show together caused me, the outpour of support provided by my colleagues, peers, associates, friends, and family showed me was well worth it and I will continue to outsource and jump at the next opportunity to exhibit my work again. I am truly grateful.
